Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. organized a one-day event on “Microfinance Business Promotion Techniques, Obstacles and Solutions” on October 3, 2026, at Mala Inn Hotel, Ghorahi, Dang. The program mainly targeted field staff and was designed to strengthen their practical knowledge, improve coordination within branches, address challenges faced during field operations, and discuss effective approaches for improving the institution’s overall business performance.

The event was formally inaugurated by CEO Shogat Bir Chaudhary, who delivered the opening remarks. He welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of improving service quality, maintaining close relationships with clients, strengthening teamwork, and addressing emerging challenges in the microfinance sector. He encouraged the participants to make effective use of the training and apply the knowledge gained in their respective working areas.

Following the opening session, Consultant Hit Bahadur Thapa conducted an interactive training session focusing mainly on the coordination gaps between branch managers and field staff and the need to reduce the increasing level of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs). Rather than limiting the session to a conventional presentation, he interacted directly with individual participants through questions related to their daily working practices.

This approach helped identify gaps in branch-level procedures, communication, supervision, loan monitoring, and coordination between managers and field employees. He emphasized that clear communication, timely follow-up, proper assessment of borrowers, and coordinated action are essential for preventing loan defaults and controlling NPLs.

After the lunch break, Manager Nirmal Chaudhary conducted a session on the institution’s progress and achievements. He reviewed the organization’s performance and encouraged staff members to maintain their contribution toward achieving institutional targets.

The following session was delivered by Subir Chaudhary from the IT section, who discussed savings, their effects, and the loan repayment system. The session highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate information, encouraging regular savings among clients, and ensuring systematic and timely loan repayment.

Manager Nep Bahadur Chaudhary then delivered a session on relationship building with clients. He emphasized that trust, respectful communication, regular interaction, and an understanding of clients’ financial conditions are important for developing long-term relationships and improving both repayment behavior and customer retention.

The program continued with a session by HR Manager Kalidash Chaudhary, who discussed issues related to human resources, staff responsibilities, workplace coordination, and professional conduct. Senior Manager Sushila Giri also delivered an important session focusing on loan limits and the loan repayment system, explaining the need for responsible lending, appropriate loan assessment, proper monitoring, and timely recovery.

The event concluded with closing remarks from CEO Shogat Bir Chaudhary. He encouraged the field staff to implement the lessons learned during the program in their everyday work. Overall, the event provided a useful platform for identifying operational challenges, sharing practical solutions, improving coordination, and strengthening the institution’s approach toward sustainable microfinance business promotion.
